No, shouldnāt. However the error codes wonāt necessarily match.
That doesnāt really make any sense for GIMBAL modeā¦ are you very aggressively accelerating the drive maybe? Or what do you have set for motor.config.current_lim?
It kinda sounds to me like you might have a bunch of weird electrical noise issues.
- Are you using a USB isolator?
- Any ground loops?
- What does the wiring look like?
- Are you using the ferrite rings & shielded encoder cables?

If I turn off the LED office lights and sit in the dark it works 
Iāve got a bag of ferrite rings on order to see if that helps, if not then new lights as these cheap ones are horrid!!
Sorry for the frustration, this thing has literally been driving me insane!!
I think a bit of covid induced time off helped clear the mind as wellā¦
