10 Nm torque motor selection

Hi Towen, think I got lost in the woods a bit there, thanks clearing it up again

cheers

Don’t forget about cogging effect.
I’ve made a mistake when I was searching for my motor.
Applying anticogging algorithm doesn’t help in let’s say bigger constructions (I can feel a difference with/without anticogging when Im trying to rotate a shaft of the motor itself, however when I pull at the end of all mechanics connected to the shaft - there’s no difference).

If the operation needs to be smooth…i was told… I should use an ironless/coreless motor.

Im thinking now about wind turbine generator.
Odrive motor connected to the chain gearbox and finally to the control column.
The operation is nice but could be better if I had chosen a different motor.

Hi, thanks, I’m finding a cheap s/h hoverboard to pull motors out & try first, hopefully cogging won’t be too bad, cheers

You can use a Coreless motor for no cogging, OR a motor with a skewed rotor. See https://www.precisionmicrodrives.com/content/cogging-torque-in-permanent-magnet-motors/
