I am running Odrive motor M8325s 100kv using Odrive pro and OA1 encoder. It was running fine but all of sudden the led color of encoder turned red. I do not know why there is no communication between Odrive pro and encoder. Any one else faced similar issue?
Hi! This means the encoder lost communication with the ODrive, likely due to a wiring issue. Could you post an image of your wiring?
Hi Solomon,
Thank you for your kind response. That is what I guess as well. I will get a picture of the wiring and share it from my lab tomorrow.
Thank you!
Hi, Please find the wiring diagram.
Hi, sorry your picture is too low resolution to see anything. Maybe you could upload the full image to somewhere else and send a link here?
No worries, that’s a lot better. Is the color a true red, or is it orange? If it’s orange, that means the magnetic field strength is too low, which could indicate the OA1 is too far away from the magnet.
It is red. We checked the wiring; it is okay. We even changed the controller and encoder, which gives a red color again. What could be the reason why the encoder can not communicate with a controller?
Can you show how you set up / configured the ODrive Pro?
We used GUI to set up ODrive Pro. It is powered with 24 V DC, the motor is M8325s 100kv, and the endorser is enc OA1. Ramped velocity control mode is used.
My encoder turned green while saving and rebooting the Save to non-volatile memory option. Thank you.
Great!
