USB-CAN Adapter Firmware Version Unknown

USB-CAN adapter no longer working. On the GUI it keeps showing this error message.

This message started after a short on one of the ODrives in the CAN chain. I had wired the - from my batter source to the A channel on the ODrive accidentally, while having the + from my battery to the DC + on the ODrive. I then connected my four ODrives in a daisy chain via CAN, then to the CAN-USB adapter, and then turned on the battery source.

The ODrive that was connected incorrectly spun for 3 seconds and then stopped. It smelled like smoked too. I considered it broken and then purchased a new one.

After buying the new one and replacing it in the chain, none of my ODrives connect to CAN via the same adapter used previously (even individually) and all return the error message from above.

I am wondering if I broke the CAN on all ODrives because of this mistake or if simply the CAN adapter is broken. Or both. And any work arounds.

Thanks

Interesting. If the serial number is showing up, then that means some CAN messages are getting through. What shows when you mouse over the orange triangle?

My best guess is that the CAN transceiver on the USB-CAN adapter may be a bit damaged; the S1s should be able to withstand the brief voltage offset on the CANH/CANL lines caused by the miswire. What battery voltage are you using?
