Using Gimbal Motors With AS5048a Encoder For Robot Arm?

I’m just learning Odrive, how viable is it to use Gimbal Motors with build in encoders for a robot arm? Is it possible to use them in Closed Loop Position Control? Also, does the Odrive support the AS5048a (Which firmware do I use? where do I get it?).

It’s all a little confusing as the Odrive encoder guide does not list all the supported encoders. Odrive forums they recomment the AS5047P. So, which is better AS5047P or AS5048a? For myh application requires absolute position magnetic based encoder eg. Here Encoder Example In AliExpress
