Hello, does the ODrive Micro support gimbal-type motors? A few months ago I was able to use them with out an issue, but now I no longer see an option in the Web GUI motor tab to select gimbal motors.
btw I can see the motor type option when I connect S1.
Hi! Yes, the Micro supports gimbal motors. What we removed from the GUI the ability to select between voltage control (called “gimbal mode” with Pro/S1) and current control (called “high current” mode with Pro/S1). That’s because the Micro’s designed to operate with higher resistance motors (typically gimbal motors) while using current control. So the specific “gimbal mode” was a misnomer, a holdover from the Pro/S1 (where voltage control can be needed for higher resistance motors). With the Micro, you can just set up the motor as-is, and it’ll be in current control mode by default. You can see more on the two modes here: ODrive API Reference — ODrive Documentation 0.6.12 documentation, but the default current control mode should be all you need.
Thank you for info I will play with it.
