Active Suspension for Crosskart

Hi everyone,

Newbie here. I am building an electric crosskart with active suspension so it can basically tilt into the corners. Traditionally hydraulics are used for active suspension/tilting. I was wondering if it was possible to use highly geared high speed motors in like maybe 30:1 ratio to move suspension rockers in the same fashion RC car makers use servos. Would be your odrive capable of controlling something like this in combination with arduino or is it intended only for less strenuous applications. Thank you for any suggestions.

Oh man cool idea. It’s absolutely doable, but will require some pretty solid design. You’ll probably want to use the ODrive Pro (aka v4) that is coming out soon, as it’s going to be much more reliable.

My project also uses hydraulics, what size pump and cylinders/rams are you using?
