With the v3.6, is it possible to use a hall sensor only for startup and then switch to sensorless commutation?
The motor used in a project here came with a hall sensor that only works while there is no current flowing through the motor, so it can only be used to get the position when starting up.
Starting up in sensorless mode is not a great option either because half of the time the motor starts spinning in the wrong direction, maybe due to high inertial loads. This makes automation in the project kind of difficult.
No, sorry. We wanted to implement this in the past but never got around to it. Maybe on our next gen products.
