Hi there,
I’m in the planning stage of building a hangprinter version 4 for paste extrusion (clay)
The documentation is still being published gradually by the originator Torbjorn but I wanted to source some of the equipment before trying to get my head around the software/firmware aspect. It requires 2 O-drives which is fine but I’m trying to get my head around what spec BLDC motor would suit?
The build requires motors that are able to take the weight/inertia of the paste-delivery-system and in correspondence with Torbjorn he suggested I hop on this forum.
Thanks
Rajan
It would depend on the weight and gearing you plan to use. The main tradeoff is usually torque vs size (most brushless motors can spin very fast, so speed isn’t usually a constraint).
This is a good resource for selecting motors.
