Has my board burned out?

Hi,

I think my Odrive Mini board has burned out… and I don’t know why…

Let me give you some background.

I’m building a hoverboard with a motor, and I’m using an MKS Odrive Mini…

I’ve installed the wiring and flashed the firmware, which you may be familiar with, “FFbeast.”

When I first started it up, it seemed to work, but now I’m not sure at all, because when I start it up, I hear a crackling noise, and it doesn’t give me a good feeling, so I stop it immediately.

I’m not sure about that noise, as if something is burning. I hear it as soon as I start it up.

I’ve checked that the polarities on the power supply are correct.

What tests can I run?
How can I tell if the board has burned out?

Unfortunately those MKS boards are a knockoff of ODrive products, and are usually made with pretty poor design and quality control. I’d probably recommend reaching out to the manufacturer for a replacement.

I understand…
