After update to beta, the odrive s1 is “bricked” in dfu mode, shown by the orange led thats on.
Tried dfu install from windows by python, and from linux, but it doesnt work.
It keeps connecting and disconnecting to my laptop. Tried also laptops from friends.
Whats the fix? I would like to know if there is a way to get it working again
Hi! Apologies you’re having that issue. You should be able to recover it either by running odrivetool new-dfu again, or by following the legacy firmware update process.
One question – what revision number is on the S1? You can see it on the bottom left corner, here:
Hi,
I used this one, Unbootable firmware doc’s but that didnt work. Where to find the new dfu guide?
Will also try the legency dfu.
The s1 is a Rev A2. What has it to do with the fix?
The update was bricked by turning it off and on i guess. The gui said “ if it takes long, turn the odrive off and on.” I tought 5min, was long enough.
with the legency dfu i get this error
with the odrive tool it asks to connect the odrive, but ive connected it. and if i open the gui, i see it connecting and disconnecting
and the screenshots of the connect and disconnect sequence
please help?!
also tried new dfu, and got this error
looks like i got it recovered to the newest stable version(6.11)
in force dfu(by the switch) and then changing the dfu driver by zadig.
detecting it with legencydfu
but dont know if i dare to go to an dev firmware now…
The revision number was just to understand if it likely came pre-flashed with the bootloader, which it does.
It looks like the Zadig worked, that should be repeatable if the issue happens again. You can also just run odrivetool legacy-dfu --channel devel, or odrivetool new-dfu --channel devel (since it seems there was maybe an issue with the GUI DFU, since it should take less than 30 seconds to do DFU typically). I was worried if the orange LED meant our devel firmware has an issue, but it seems like there was just an issue in flashing for you – upgrading an S1 to devel is fine on my desk, so you may want to try again with the command-line tool (odrivetool new-dfu --channel devel)
