I have two odrive S1 on a CAN chain , one of them suddenly started sending only heartbeat , does not respond to commands. I have tried re configuring but the problem persists.
Any ideas, this has been working for more than a year. I see no issues with usb.

Hmm, that’s quite interesting. Could it be a CAN busload issue? Or an issue with bus wiring or termination? Maybe a grounding issue?
There are two drives daisy chained on the same CAN bus, one is working perfectly the other is just sending heartbeat. I have tried switching the order in the daisy chain same issue. If it is a CAN bus issue
I would suspect that the heartbeat and the other drive would have a problem. The calibration process
works fine, the Botwheel rotates correctly.
I looking for suggestions to debug.
Could you send some pictures of your wiring? What are you using to send messages on the CAN bus? A USB-CAN adapter, or an Arduino, or something else?
I have attached a photo.
It is mounted upside down, it is driven by a Waveshare SN65HVD230 from a Jetson, driving
a BotWheel. again it was working , the CAN interface stopped working quite suddenly.
The ground is shared by everything, goes to the chassis.
I am expecting two S1s by mail, I will be happy to send this Unit for debug once I replace it with
one of the new ones. Please let me know if you would like me to do that, we are located in the
Bay Area, CA.
Best Regards
Sandeep
