Hi! The slight “hissing” sound is normal – this is just normal current noise and fluctuations, amplified by the motor’s design. The rubbing sound in the second video is definitely not normal – my best guess is that the encoder wasn’t assembled properly, and it’s rubbing internally – likely as a result of misalignment between the two plates. Those AMT style encoders require a good deal of mounting precision, and shouldn’t make any noise whatsoever during operation – you can listen to see if there’s any rubbing in the encoder itself. I’d recommend printing a more rigid spacer between the two plates, and making sure to follow the AMT21 assembly guide closely.
