When I run odrivetool dfu the error message is:
DfuError: The firmware on device 205F318C4E53 does not support starting a firmware update from
RUN mode. Please remove power, put the DFU switch into DFU mode, then apply power
again. Then try again.
But the new board does not have a DFU switch. It only has a connecting link between DFU pin and RUN pin.

Ah, that’s a clone ODrive board, those are usually pretty low quality and have all sorts of issues, unfortunately. I’d recommend reaching out to the device manufacturer for support, since we have no way of knowing what sort of changes they made.
Thanks a lot for the advice. I have inherited the module and was not aware of its origin.
