I am looking to see if anyone has had success driving linmot linear actuators with the O drive

No fundamental problems, but beware that:

  • ODrive cannot (AFAIK) work with 1vpp SinCos encoders. Make sure you get one with incremental encoder. The incremental encoder should be 5v or 3.3v single ended, not differential (but you can get a converter for this).
  • These actuators are meant for operation on mains voltages (400V DC). you will get low speed and torque force performance at 50V.
  • ODrive has no output for a mechanical brake
