Odrive controller for 3kW hub motor

Hi all,

Currently I am in the process of converting a Vespa scooter to electric. I am using a FarDriver controller for the 10” 1.5kW hub motor with peaks of 3kW.
The battery pack is 52V and the max current is 50A. I would like more control over the motor and am thinking of using a Odrive Pro since, according to the specs, this should be compatible. I am sure I need to take care of some extra cooling but this is not a problem.
I can however not find any similar projects using the Odrive and was wondering if there is any reason for that?

Thank you in advance.

ODrive Pro should definitely work! I’ve seen people using it for e-mobility applications, no reason it won’t work for your application. Regarding the extra cooling, I think just the heatspreader+heatsink+fan should be all you need.
